Mauricio Yonamine
Mauricio Yonamine is Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Analyses and Toxicology, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He has Master degree and PhD in Toxicology. His expertise is in the field of Forensic Toxicology, specifically in the development of new analytical methods for identification/quantification of drugs of abuse in different biological matrices (hair, sweat, saliva, blood, urine and meconium), and their possible applications wherever the investigation of drug exposure is concerned (e.g. workplace drug testing, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, prenatal drug exposure, overdose cases). Sample preparation techniques involved in the studies of the research group include solid phase extraction (SPE), solid phase microextraction (SPME), liquid phase microextraction (LPME) and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) for further detection of analytes by chromatographic techniques coupled or not with mass spectrometry.
