Ligia Bicudo de Almeida Muradian

Basic Profile
Associate Professor, MS-5, exclusively dedicated to education and research (RDIDP). Conducts research mainly on the following themes: general food analyis, vitamins, cartenoids and apiary products such as honey, royal jam, pollen, and honey from native bees.

Academic background
- Bachelor degree in Pharmacy-biochemistry from FCF/USP (1980)
- Master degree in Food Sciences from FCF/USP (1986)
- Doctor degree in Food Sciences from FCF/USP (1991)
- Post-doc from the Swiss Bee Research Centre – Suíça (2008 and 2009)

Main research lines
1) The Food Analysis laboratory counts with specialized human resources and is completely equipped for providing services related to the nutritional composition of foods: 1) Assessment of the centesimal composition of foods and diets as humidity, mineral residues, fats, proteins and total carbohydrates;
2) Determination of the quantities of vitamins in foods;
3) Idetification and quatification of carotenoid pigments;
4) Honey and apiary products analysis, such as honey, royal jam, pollen and honey from stingless bees.
