Dulcineia Saes Parra Abdalla, PhD, concluded her studies in Pharmacy (1978), got her Master degree in Pharmacy (1981) and her PhD in Biochemistry (1988) at the Univesity of São Paulo. She was trained as postdoc at the University of Sourthern Califórnia (1989) and was a visiting researcher at the Food Science Research Institute at Tskuba, Japan (1991). She is currently Full Professor of Clinical Biochemistry at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FCF-USP). She served as chair of the Department of Clinicial and Toxicological Analyses (2002-2008), Vice-Dean of the FCF-USP (2008-2012) and was the national coordinator of Pharmacy area at the Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES, 2008-2014). Her major research interests are in cardiovascular diseases (Pathophisiology, Diagnosis and Therapeutics), focusing on the role of modified lipoproteins on atheroma progression and instability, atherosclerosis molecular imaging tools and atheroprotective natural and synthetic agents.
